Globe expands 5G roaming service to Netherlands, Bahrain, New Zealand

Globe has expanded its 5G roaming coverage to include the Netherlands, Bahrain, and New Zealand. The telco continues to explore further partnerships in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific in the wake of the pandemic's economic impact.

Currently, Globe 5G roaming service is available in 43 countries worldwide. The telco added Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, and France to its list of roaming partners just last month.

Globe subscribers that connect via Zain in Bahrain, Vodafone in New Zealand, or KPN in the Netherlands will experience 5G roaming.

To activate RoamSurf 399 for all-day data access for one day, Postpaid customers simply need to turn on their phone's mobile data and data roaming. Prepaid subscribers can register for RoamSurf 399 via the GlobeOne or GCash apps and receive a 24-hour data roaming allowance of 1GB.

Globe now offers Roam Surf Longer Stay for lengthy journeys abroad, which provides consumers with more GBs for all-access surfing, larger savings, and longer validity periods. Customers can easily select from 3, 5, 7, 15, and 30-day data packs. You can visit glbe.co/PostpaidRSLS or glbe.co/RSLongerStay (for Prepaid) for additional information.

5G technology enables faster data transfer, lower latency, and increased capacity than 4G LTE networks.

Globe invested a record P92.8 billion in capital expenditures last year to prepare its network for the post-pandemic period. Along with the addition of 1,407 additional cell sites and the installation of over 1.4 million fiber-to-the-home lines, Globe has also activated over 2,000 5G outdoor and in-building solutions.

The digital solutions company invested P89 billion in capital expenditures this year.

Coco Domingo, Globe Vice President for Postpaid and International Business, shared that while they "strive to increase Globe's 5G presence in the Philippines," they are also "working hard" to expand their coverage for 5G roaming.
