Apple iPhone SE (2022), also known as iPhone SE 3 or iPhone SE (3rd generation), is the successor of
iPhone SE 2 and is now positioned as a premium mid-range iPhone. It features a 4.7-inch Retina HD display, a 12MP rear camera, and a 7MP front camera. It runs on an Apple A15 Bionic chipset inherited from iPhone 13 family with an iOS 15 operating system. It has a classic design similar to the iPhone 8. iPhone SE 2022 is available in three variants, 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB storage.
The new iPhone SE features a brand new camera system powered by an A15 Bionic processor, with a 12MP f/1.8 aperture wide camera that offers excellent computational photography benefits, such as Smart HDR 4, Photographic Styles, Deep Fusion, and Portrait mode. The front-facing camera has a 7-megapixel sensor. Its 4.7-inch display features an "aerospace-grade aluminum and glass design." For improved durability, it comes with the "toughest glass on a smartphone" (Ceramic Shield). It is also rated IP67 for water and dust resistance, protecting the phone against spills. Regarding security, iPhone SE features the familiar physical Home button with Touch ID, which offers users an easy, private, and secure alternative for logging in to mobile apps, authorizing App Store purchases, and making Apple Pay transactions, among others.
iPhone SE 3 is powered by A15 Bionic, a lightning-fast chipset introduced with
iPhone 13 series. It provides flawless performance for every task iPhone SE handles, ideal for photography, gaming, and augmented reality experiences. A15 Bionic is designed for efficiency and works in tandem with the latest-generation battery chemistry and tight integration with iOS 15 to improve battery life on the iPhone SE. Despite its compact size and advancements in technology such as 5G, the iPhone SE has a longer battery life than previous-generation and older 4.7-inch iPhone models. The iPhone SE is compatible with wireless chargers that are Qi-certified and also supports fast charging. Moreover, the company claims that the latest iPhone SE can charge up to 50% in 30 minutes with a 20W power adapter. Other highlights include 5G connectivity, Wi-Fi 6, Dual SIM with eSIM, NFC, and stereo speakers. iPhone SE 3rd-gen has three color options: Black, White, Red.
