realme has been named the Philippines' No. 1 smartphone brand for 2021 by global research firms Canalys and IDC.
According to Canalys, realme placed first in terms of sell-in shipments in Q4 2021, outperforming four other smartphone brands with a 20% market share in the country. Since Q1 2021, the brand has kept this position, making it the year's leading vendor with a 23% unit share. In addition, Canalys reported a 19% year-over-year growth for the mobile brand compared to its market share for 2020.
Moreover, the recent Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker report of International Data Corporation (IDC) confirmed realme's market leadership for 2021.
According to IDC, realme secured the top spot for the fourth consecutive quarter, capturing 20.6% of the local smartphone market, increasing by 7.9% quarter-on-quarter.
IDC also reported a no. 1 finish for realme for the entire year with a 22.2 percent overall market share, generating a 7.9 percent year-over-year increase.
