Subscription-based streaming service Netflix has released its data for January 2022 ISP Speed Index for the Philippines, ranking internet service providers (ISPs) based on their performance.
According to the January 2022 Netflix ISP Speed Index for the Philippines, PLDT, Globe, Sky Cable, and Converge tied for the top position, posting speeds of 3.4 Mbps. Compared to December 2021 rankings, Converge and Sky have maintained their rankings, while PLDT and Globe moved up one spot.
The lone second placer Royal Cable recorded an average speed of 3.0 Mbps.

It is noted that Converge ICT Solution, Sky Cable, and Royal Cable have two internet types, including Fiber and Cable. Meanwhile, PLDT and Globe Telecom have Fiber and DSL (digital subscriber line).
Netflix's ISP Speed Index determines which ISPs offer the best Netflix viewing experience during peak hours. The chart is based on data gathered from subscribers using the online video streaming platform.
The speed index is vital for Netflix streaming because its videos load quickly on networks with low latency, packet loss, and jitter. Otherwise, users may encounter issues such as buffering and pixelization while watching videos.
