Top-up service UniPin has announced the addition of ShopeePay, Shopee's integrated mobile wallet, as their newest payment option.
According to UniPin and ShopeePay, with the online gaming business continuing to flourish, they are committed to serving the growing market of online gamers by "providing them with an easier way to pay for their online game vouchers."
The Philippines is one of several Southeast Asian (SEA) countries with consistent development in mobile money transactions. As per market and consumer research firm Statista, the number of e-wallet users in the country reached 24.6 million in 2020 and is expected to reach 75.5 million by 2025.
When the payment option (ShopeePay) for online games vouchers becomes available, players can select it in under the Wallet payment option on UniPin web checkout. The purchase amount will be taken from your ShopeePay balance.
Since its launch in the Philippines in 2019, ShopeePay has partnered with merchants from a variety of industries to provide Filipinos with a hassle-free digital transaction experience.
ShopeePay enables users to do a range of activities, including load purchases, bill payments, and money transfers. Additionally, it offers "Scan To Pay," which enables customers to pay with a QR code at thousands of partners across the country.
Cynthia David, Country Manager of UniPin Philippines, adds that the new payment method was launched to provide better ease for online game enthusiasts while transacting.
