Respawn delays Apex Legends Mobile release due to 'current world events'

Respawn Entertainment has delayed the launch of Apex Legends Mobile. The free-to-play battle royale game was initially set to release this week in select regions but will now launch on March 7, 2022, PST.

According to Respawn Entertainment and EA Games, they decided to move the release date of Apex Legends Mobile's limited regional launch "due to current world events." Besides this, no further details have been revealed about the delay.

What are the countries included in the limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile?

Beginning March 7, ten countries will be able to access Apex Legends Mobile on Android and iOS platforms. The lineup includes the following:

Southeast Asia region

  • Malaysia
  • Singapore
  • Philippines
  • Indonesia

Oceania region

  • Australia
  • New Zealand

South America region

  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • Argentina
  • Colombia

What Legends are included in the limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile?

While the developers aim to include all legends in the game's mobile port, only a select few will be available during the limited regional launch. They are the following:

Will Apex Legends Mobile support cross-platform functionality?

According to Respawn, Apex Legends Mobile will not support cross-platform gameplay between PCs and consoles, as "it is being built specifically for mobile."

To recall, Apex Legends Mobile entered into the closed beta test (CBT) phase in the Philippines in May 2021. Another CBT was released in August 2021 with the inclusion of Indonesia and Malaysia. After several tests, the game went into soft launch in select countries in February 2022.
