In celebration of PUBG Mobile's 4th anniversary, the mobile battle royale game and Sony Music Philippines released "Bawal Sumuko Dito" by Flict-G, featuring star rappers Smugglaz, Skant Vee, Hakob, and A$tro.
The 5-minute long music video features familiar PUBG Mobile characters mixed with battle royale scenes from the game. Moreover, the artistic direction included vibrant blues, pinks, and yellows that alluded to the game's fourth anniversary.
Flict-G is a Filipino rapper well-known in hip-hop circles for his nationalistic rap and inspirational lyrics. In the PUBG Mobile story-inspired music video, he encourages everyone, especially youth, to be the best version of themselves. The production, which was produced by Cursebox and features sound effects by Microphone Mechanics, connects real-world adversities to the in-game competition faced by gamers.
Flict-G made his musical debut alongside fellow rapper Smugglaz with the hip-hop/rap track "Nakakamiss." The rap masterpiece became 2015's most downloaded song, as recognized by the Awit Awards.
The music video for "Bawal Sumuko Dito" was created in collaboration with Sony Music Philippines and premiered on Flict-G's YouTube channel and the PUBG Mobile Philippines Facebook page.
"Naniniwala ako sa kakayahan ng kabataan, at lahat ng Pilipino, na malagpasan ang kahit anong hamon (I believe in the ability of the youth, and of all Filipinos, to surmount any obstacle)," said Flict-G.
"Iyan ang mensahe ng pakikipaglaban at pag-asa na gusto ko ihayag (That's the message of fight and hope that I wish to share)," added the nationalistic rapper.
In the Philippines, PUBG Mobile celebrated the milestone with flying colors, beginning with the launch of version 1.9 update, the release of the game's first-ever Tagalog Voice Pack featuring Moymoy Palaboy's Rodfil, and preparing to tour the country with the anticipated Pop-Up Crates. Limited-edition mountain bikes decorated in PUBG Mobile's 4th-anniversary colors are available for purchase.
