Blizzard Entertainment has announced that it will reveal its plans for Warcraft franchise this spring 2022, including the next expansions for World of Warcraft (WoW) and Hearthstone and the new Warcraft mobile game.
The official World of Warcraft Twitter handle has posted a roadmap of plans with important dates, which include the following:
- March 15: Hearthstone - Expansion Reveal
- March 18: World of Warcraft - Arena World Championship Begins
- April 19: World of Warcraft - Expansion Reveal
- May: Warcraft - Mobile Game Reveal
Hearthstone
Blizzard Entertainment plans to announce the first Hearthstone expansion of 2022 on March 15. This year, there will be a total of three expansions. Moreover, players will see updates to the game's core set and a glimpse into the development plans for the rest of the year.
World of Warcraft
The current expansion for World of Warcraft, Shadowlands, has reached the end of its expansion cycle. Blizzard plans to reveal the next World of Warcraft expansion on April 19, 2022.
Warcraft mobile game
Warcraft franchise general manager John Hight stated that development on the first mobile game set in the Warcraft universe is in progress.
"We're preparing to get the first game in the Warcraft Universe designed for mobile into your hands," said Hight.
The developer also said it will reveal more details about the Warcraft mobile game in May 2022.
WoW Esports
WoW Esports, now in its 15th year, will continue its program this year with the Arena World Championship and Mythic Dungeon International, both of which have a March 28 registration deadline.
