Singapore-based game company Garena has announced that the famous Kpop boy band BTS is the new global brand ambassador of their mobile battle royale game Free Fire.
The BTS x Free Fire collab is set to release later in March 2022. The partnership will see one of the most streamed artists internationally enter the realm of Free Fire for a "never-before-seen event."
Harold Teo, Free Fire Producer at Garena, said they are excited about the collaboration between Free Fire and the global phenomenon BTS.
"We are absolutely excited to welcome BTS as our latest brand ambassador," said Teo. "And can not wait to share the collaboration plans we have in place."
"Bringing BTS into the Free Fire universe will offer our players more ways to engage with the game, socialise with the community, and enjoy new experiences," added Teo.
BTS, or the Bangtan Boys, is comprised of Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, and Jimin. The Kpop group has risen to prominence as one of the world's most popular acts, winning the hearts and minds of numerous people worldwide.
Free Fire fans and players can anticipate a series of collab events and activities, both within the game and beyond.
For those unaware, Garena Free Fire or Free Fire, with an enhanced version called Free Fire Max, is a free-to-play mobile battle royale game that contains two basic modes: Battle Royale and Clash Squad. The players' ultimate mission, focusing on shooting and survival, is to be the last person standing.
Garena Free Fire has done several collaborations or crossovers with different titles, such as Money Heist, Venom, McLaren Racing, and Street Fighter V.
Besides its collab with BTS, Free Fire is also set to team up with the video game series Assassin's Creed in March 2022.
