Moonton Games has announced that Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) 2022 will be held offline in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from June 11 to 19.
Known as the city of contrast and diversity, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will host the MSC for the first time, with 12 squads competing for a share of a USD 300,000 prize pool — twice the size of last year's MSC.
The 12 participating teams will be composed of the champions and the runners-up of the MLBB Professional Leagues (MPL) in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Cambodia. On the other hand, the representatives for Myanmar and Laos/Vietnam/Thailand (LA/TH/VN) will be determined through qualifying tournaments.
MSC 2022 will have a similar tournament format to last year's MSC 2021. Twelve (12) teams from the region will compete in two stages: the group stage and the playoffs.
Each group of three teams will fight against each other in a best-of-two (Bo2) single round-robin match where the weakest of each group will be eliminated. The remaining eight (8) teams will advance to the playoffs and vie for the coveted championship title.
On May 29, the MSC 2022 Group Draw will be broadcast, along with additional information about the tournament.
The group stage of MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2022 will take place from June 11 to 12, followed by the playoffs from June 14 to 19.
MSC 2022 will mark the tournament's return to offline competition following last year's online-only iteration, which was won by the Filipino team Execration.
