Urban anime-style battle royale shooter Super Mecha Champions has launched its new transformable mecha, "Pulsar," designed by the famous Japanese mecha designer Kawamori Shoji.
According to game developer NetEase Games, this collaboration is the latest progress of the SMC Global Designers Cooperation Plan.
Kawamori Shoji, a well-known Japanese mecha designer and anime director, is an expert at designing robots that morph into other forms.
He has designed for a number of wildly popular anime series, including Ghost in the Shell, The Super Dimension Fortress Macross, and Gundam 0083. His unique mechanical transformable design concept is presently being implemented in the "Pulsar."
New mecha: Pulsar
The story of the new mecha Pulsar goes like this. The original "Pulsar" was a transformable armed experimental machine capable of self-learning developed by Priory radicals as part of the "Paradise" project. However, "Pulsar" sustained significant damage in a man-made "experiment accident" when Lan Xin, a pilot specializing in human mechanics, rescued it from abortion.
Pulsar mysteriously recovered to normal operation under Lan Xin's care, carrying the tokamak concentrated pulse gun, the Priory's most powerful weapon, and the ANN two-handed pulse rifle, which fires at a far faster pace than an ordinary pulse gun. Moreover, "Pulsar" was equipped with "Eden," an artificial neural network system that significantly improved the pilot's synchronization rate via its own intelligent features.
To emphasize these features of "Pulsar," Master Kawamori used a ringed design to impose a considerably more powerful beam cannon shooting impression. When transformed into a humanoid, the blue-and-white "Pulsar" resembles a cowboy poised to draw its lethal weapon from its holster. When turned into mecha form, "Pulsar" may freely switch between Extended Spread and Single Snipe modes of the Pulse Blaster, demonstrating its remarkable adaptability on unknown battlefields.
How to obtain the Super Mecha Champions character Pulsar?
Players can acquire the new mecha Pulsar with Crystal. Undoubtedly, "Pulsar," the mecha propelled by technology and fantasy, will establish a significant presence in the mecha urban arena.
Upcoming mecha: Lan Xin
Ebata Risa is another Kawamori Studio artist who has been requested to design "Lan Xin." Her collection features well-known characters such as Tsuki and Nanakori from Xenoblade 2 and Sheryl Nome and Ranka Lee from The Super Dimension Fortress Macross F.
Lan Xin has an eccentric personality with two sides to her heart. She feels so gentle with all motherliness on the outside. But inside of her resides the greatest ambition of dismantling the barrier between human and mecha.
Through crossover collaboration, SMC has been devoted to creating an open and diverse fantasy world.
With the addition of artists such as Kamata Mitsuji, Kawamori Shoji, and Ebata Risa, the Global Designers Cooperation Plan continues its steady evolution. In the future, many artists from diverse professions will join NetEase Games in developing the SMC cross-dimensional fantasy world, with much more to come.
Super Mecha Champions can be downloaded for free on Apple App Store (for iOS) and Google Play (for Android). Meanwhile, PC users can download the game on Steam. Note that the Super Mecha Champions Steam version doesn't support cross-play between the mobile platforms.
