As part of Garena Free Fire's global collaboration with K-pop group BTS, the members of BTS have designed exclusive skins for the mobile battle royale game.
All members of BTS, including Jin, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jungkook, V, and Jimin, revealed their design process and inspirations in the first episode of "The Free Fire x BTS Show" premiered on YouTube on March 24, 2022. From V's stealthy ghillie-inspired outfit and J-Hope's checkered suit equipped with accessories to RM's surfer "summer exclusive" concept, the costumes reflected each member's individual style.
Jin's costume, in particular, has gained considerable appreciation among both Free Fire and BTS fans due to its unique design. His creation, popularly dubbed "Pink Angel Princess," has a beard and is dressed in a bright pink, eye-catching full bodysuit complete with angel wings.
Fans complimented Jin for his innovative, open-minded approach, defying gender stereotypes by excluding any stereotypical male or feminine aspects from the costume. He designed it as an outfit "that's meant to be loved by everyone."
Meanwhile, Suga said that Jin's design is suited for seasoned players. The design has also piqued the interest of new gamers, such as YouTuber HGamesYT, who has over 7.2 million subscribers but had never heard of Free Fire until the BTS partnership — a testament to how unusual collaborations that span culture, music, fashion, and gaming can unite communities.
